Blaine Black is a third-year electronic music composer and performer studying electronic music composition at Carnegie Mellon University. Diverging from his path as a classically trained percussionist and rock drummer, he began composing electronic music eight years ago. Using Ableton Live and Max/MSP to design complex sounds, he colors the sound spectrum with powerful rhythms and captivating textures. He is currently working on an album titled Material Neverland that draws influences from dubstep, math rock, hard rock, drum and bass, and noise. Additionally, he is in the process of writing several other remixes and singles to be released. Blaine’s latest audiovisual work “Ugomeki” was recently accepted to both the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival and the International Computer Music Conference in Shenzhen, China. In addition to his work as a composer, Blaine creates interactive software tools for other electronic musicians to incorporate in their creative process.

I have been teaching drum set for many years now, as I have over a decade of experience playing in a variety of styles including classical, jazz, rock, fusion, funk, and latin -- both on drum set and a variety of percussion instruments. I have played in a variety of groups including the UCSB jazz band as well as groups "gigging" around the Ventura and Santa Barbara county area.

Good afternoon/evening/morning! My name is Brogan, I am currently a student at West Texas A&M University, studying for my Bachelor's in Music Education and am looking into a Master's in Music Composition. I have been playing percussion for over 10 years and have been studying under professors from South Plains College and West Texas A&M covering a range of percussion techniques and base level music theory. Hi all! My name is Liam Dun and I am a senior music major at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. I've been playing percussion for nearly 12 years now, and have studied both concert and marching percussion, as well as the drum set. I've served as the drummer in numerous bands both on Bates' campus and in my hometown of Princeton, NJ. This has included playing in cover bands for school functions, as well as writing, recording, and performing drum beats for the original compositions of my friends and collaborators. In addition to my work as a drummer, I am also a self-taught producer, writing and recording songs in my home studio with digital audio workstations such as GarageBand, Logic Pro, and Reaper. My major instrument is trumpet but, I was also employed as a substitute teacher and taught in the public school system which gave me the opportunity to not only conduct orchestras consisting of violins, violas, cellos and basses as well as concert bands and stage bands but also to coach individual students on a large variety of instruments when necessary. I have taught private lessons to students of all ages on most instruments as well as in solfege and jazz theory and continue to do so today. I greatly enjoy teaching beginner/intermediate students but, I also love teaching more accomplished students who are interested in applying jazz theory to enhance their ability through improvisation and song writing. I have written a 125 page book which encompasses most of the important information gained from the years spent at music colleges with respect to jazz theory, improvisation and song writing. I am familiar with Finale Notation, Cakewalk Recording & Band In A Box Software.

I've gained a wealth of insight and knowledge into the workings of music, bands, and the music industry, and love sharing stories about my experiences and passing all of the knowledge I've gained along to my students. I get a kick out of working with kids, and enjoy the challenges of working with more experienced adult students as well. I love to make people laugh and outside of music I'm somewhat of a foodie, I'm addicted to F1 racing, I'm an oil painter, and I love being outside.

I am a current Undergraduate Student at Concordia University Wisconsin. I have experience in both a concert and marching setting playing the drums. I have had a fascination with drums since I was 10 and have had lessons for piano, mallet percussion, and marching percussion. I specialize in playing the tenor drums, snare drum, bass drum, and timpani. I am a DCI enthusiast and play excerpts from different previously performed shows. I was taught by a former DCI Snare player, having played in Santa Clara Vanguard in the years 88' and 89' (Phantom of the Opera). I have a sharp passion for helping people learn the drums in an advanced way and helping students progress in their journey.

Hello! My name is Katie and my passion is helping people succeed, whatever that means to them. I have been a percussionist for 11 years, I'm a senior at Drake University studying Music Education and Percussion Performance. I have been teaching for 3 years: private lessons, high school drumline and percussion ensemble, and elementary school bucket drumming. I also perform professionally in the Des Moines area. I’ve won performance awards, but I’m most proud of the success of my students. My teaching philosophy prioritizes self-care and well as technical and musical improvement, and I love to help students manage performance anxiety, auditions, and time management.
