About me

I've gained a wealth of insight and knowledge into the workings of music, bands, and the music industry, and love sharing stories about my experiences and passing all of the knowledge I've gained along to my students. I get a kick out of working with kids, and enjoy the challenges of working with more experienced adult students as well. I love to make people laugh and outside of music I'm somewhat of a foodie, I'm addicted to F1 racing, I'm an oil painter, and I love being outside.

I work with students of all ages, focusing primarily on drums and original music production + composition. Drum students gain a clear understanding of everything they need to know in order to go out and play professionally. Music production + composition students excel at improving as songwriters, while also learning how to record and produce their own original music.

I compose and arrange original musical scores for short films, documentaries, commercials and and TV shows, creating music in a wide range of styles using both MIDI and live instruments - everything from Classical to EDM. I work closely with directors, producers, cinematographers and various artists, always producing quality work on tight deadlines.

I've played as a drummer in agency bands performing at weddings and formal events, as well as a multi instrumentalist in multple touring alt. and pop bands, playing at venues all over the country - I've collaborated in composing, recording, and performing music as a multi- instrumentalist with various artists including Young Rapids (Jan. 2011 - Feb. 2017,) Paperhaus (Jun. 2017 - Jul. 2018,) Bottled Up (Apr. 2016 - Present,) Tuff Lover (Sep. 2018 - Present,) Glass Meadow (2018-Present), many of whom have been featured in press articles from publishers such as: Pitchfork Magazine, Brightest Young Things, NPR and Washington Post. I've Participated in five national tours and hundreds of live shows at prestigious venues and festivals across the country such as SXSW Festival, The Kennedy Center and 9:30 Club.

I majored in fine arts, with a curriculum focused on both music as well as visual art. My concentration was in painting which I continue to do as a freelancer but I also worked as a session musician and touring musician outside of school, collaborating with various ensembles. I taught drum lessons and worked in a music store during the summers and in between semesters.
