Classroom Account Settings

Your Tissimo account settings let you control how you appear on the platform, how you're notified, and how your classroom experience works by default. You can access your settings from the account menu in the top-right corner of any page.

Display Name

Your display name is what other users — including your teacher or students — see during lessons and on your profile.

To change your display name:

1. Go to My Info in Account Settings.
2. Under Display name, choose how your name appears — Full name or Last initial.
3. Click Save.

Use a name you're comfortable sharing in a learning environment.

Profile Picture

Adding a profile photo helps your teacher or students recognize you.

1. Go to Account Settings > My Info.
2. Click your current photo or the placeholder image.
3. Upload a photo from your device (JPEG or PNG recommended).
4. Crop if prompted, then save.

Notification Preferences

Control which emails and in-app notifications you receive.

• Lesson reminders — get notified before an upcoming lesson
• Messages — alerts when your teacher or student sends you a message
• Promotions and updates — platform news and offers

To update notifications, go to Notifications in Account Settings and toggle each type on or off. See managing notifications for a full guide.

Default Audio and Video Settings

You can set your preferred microphone, camera, and speaker as defaults so you don't have to reconfigure them each session.

1. Go to Classroom Settings in Account Settings.
2. Select your preferred devices from the dropdowns.
3. Adjust audio options such as bitrate and automatic gain control based on your preference.
4. Save your changes.
