Hello and Welcome! I am a guitar teacher that has experience teaching an age range of people from 7 to 70 years old. I am currently finishing my bachelors degree in Jazz Studies while also teaching for Guitar Center in north Chicago and The Merit School of Music in the West Loop of Chicago, IL. On top of teaching at these two institutions, I also teach privately online and in person. My main goal for you are to gain an solid understanding of how the neck of the guitar works. This is CRUTIAL to anyone's success playing this instrument and will help you learn on your own when I am no longer your teacher. I'm a guitarist, singer, songwriter and performer. I've been playing music for 45 years and teaching private and group lessons since 2004. I teach guitar, ukulele, beginning electric bass, beginning piano, voice and songwriting. I work with a lot of kids (as well as adults) and beginners. I'm extremely patient, and I enjoy getting brand new students up and running with proper techniques and good habits. The styles I teach are: rock (classic, indie, punk) folk, pop, reggae/ska funk, blues, r&b, country, some finger-picking, and a bit of classical. I can teach you any song you want to play whether it's rap, rock hip-hop or a piano piece. I will find a way to do it and make it fun. 😊 I give my students weekly assignments and enjoy watching them learn and grow. I love teaching, music, and sharing my gifts with others. I'm happy to help you too! Thanks and I look forward to working with you! Cheers, Judy Gascoyne aka Groovy Judy

I'm a full time college student so I work with a tight schedule. Please respect my time and me and we'll get along! I'm very lenient and patient and I'm looking forward to widen my teaching skills while helping others.

God called me to perform and write music, and to lead others to worship through music. I perform backup guitar and vocals for my church. i have attained an Associates of Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and am further pursuing my education to earn a BA in Vocal Performing. I personally have a very eclectic range of music I enjoy from Bach to Snoop Dogg. However, my favorites are Today's Christian and the Blues. My absolute favorite thing to do is to perform at church and help others enter into worship. I also enjoy performing music for my Golden Retriever, friends and family. I love to write songs and have been writing since I was a teenager. It takes time to get good at songwriting. So it has taken a little while to get this far. The more we put into music the more we get back out! Music is my true passion and I enjoy every minute of it. I love getting to teach students music. It is such a rewarding experience.

Hi! I'm Rheanna. I am an experienced classical musician and have performed in concerts as well as in musical theatre and operatic productions across NYC and abroad in Kyiv, Ukraine and Salzburg Austria. I am a New York State certified music educator with over five years of experience teaching private lessons, as well as in classroom settings. I have worked with students who range in age from 3 to 18 using a teaching philosophy that centers around creating hands-on, tactical learning experiences infused with social-emotional development in a culturally responsive environment. I am additionally a master’s degree candidate in music therapy beginning my clinical internship in the fall of 2022 at the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel.

Hi! My name is Joe Tollefsen. I've been playing guitar since I was about nine, and started taking lessons at the age of twelve. In middle school and high school, I became very invested in playing, performing, and recording music, and even building (primitive) instruments out of cigar boxes. I realized that I need to pursue this passion for music at the collegiate and professional levels; I graduated with degrees in writing and music from Johns Hopkins in 2022 and am now pursuing a Masters in guitar performance at the Yale School of Music. I've been teaching online lessons since the summer of 2021 and am also teaching a selection of Yale students taking secondary lessons. I love music, and love sharing what I know about the guitar!

I've gained a wealth of insight and knowledge into the workings of music, bands, and the music industry, and love sharing stories about my experiences and passing all of the knowledge I've gained along to my students. I get a kick out of working with kids, and enjoy the challenges of working with more experienced adult students as well. I love to make people laugh and outside of music I'm somewhat of a foodie, I'm addicted to F1 racing, I'm an oil painter, and I love being outside.

Hi, my name is Weldon, and I am a guitarist/producer from Austin. I have been a student of music for 20 years. My musical influences include jazz and classical, and I also enjoy metal and electronica. My teaching style can best be described as relaxed. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that the practice of music can be focused but relaxed, strict but fun. In my lessons, you can expect to learn proper technique and improvisational skills. I like to tell my students that there are no wrong notes. My favorite thing about teaching is bringing a powerful mental exercise filled with emotion and spirituality that one can take with them their whole lives. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach sight singing, beginner piano, and production audio engineering. My approach as a teacher is to meet the student where they are and help them build a skill set basedon their style, personality needs, and desires. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
