About me
Sal is an avid performer and educator based in New York City. He is a second year Master's student in Trombone Performance at Rutgers University - New Brunswick and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. His teachers include Sasha Romero, Michael Lormand, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, and tubist Andrew Madej. As a performer, he has experience in orchestral, wind band, solo, and chamber repertoire. He is an alumnus of summer programs such as The Southeastern Trombone Symposium, Brass Out Loud!, Sewanee Music Festival, The Virtual Trombone Workshop, and The Body, Mind, and Spirit Workshop. He has performed in masterclasses for Weston Sprott, Megumi Kanda, Jeremy Wilson, and more. As an educator, he has taught middle school and high school brass students for over a year. In June 2020 - May 2021, he was a trombone teacher at a non-profit organization called Through The Staff.
