About me

I'm James, I'm a composer, producer, and guitarist working across Classical and Popular Music. I have a PhD in Music Composition from Duke University, where I taught classes in Music Theory, and assisted classes in Composition, Ethnomusicology, and Popular Music. I've composed for all kinds of ensembles, from solo instruments to full orchestras, and work with both acoustic and electronic instruments. I use different software in my practice, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and Sibelius. Mostly an electric guitarist playing Rock and Popular Music, I've also been a Classical performer, and can help you improve your performing in any genre.
