Music Production in Ableton Live

In this course, students will learn how to use Ableton Live and other third-party software to write music. Students can expect to become proficient at Ableton Live and learn modern techniques in sound

design, melodic/harmonic writing, and mixing/mastering. Students will also practice going through the entire composition process from writing down a small idea to a fully mastered track. Outside of lesson times, I may give students assignments to complete, but I will always encourage students to practice writing music a little bit every day. Students can also bring in music they have already written to receive feedback. If you have zero experience using Ableton Live, that’s ok! This course is designed to be flexible; each student will receive lessons tailored toward their individual goals, no matter what skill level they start at.
