I have a deep passion for music and teaching others to develop the same appreciation and love for music that I have been able to experience. My goal as a teacher is to build a foundation of technique on the violin that will set the student up well for improvement. Along with this, I aim to encourage a healthy relationship between myself and my students in order to create an environment that is catered toward learning and growth. I am always looking to learn from my students as well as add to my knowledge when it comes to teaching the violin.

My major instrument is trumpet but, I was also employed as a substitute teacher and taught in the public school system which gave me the opportunity to not only conduct orchestras consisting of violins, violas, cellos and basses as well as concert bands and stage bands but also to coach individual students on a large variety of instruments when necessary. I have taught private lessons to students of all ages on most instruments as well as in solfege and jazz theory and continue to do so today. I greatly enjoy teaching beginner/intermediate students but, I also love teaching more accomplished students who are interested in applying jazz theory to enhance their ability through improvisation and song writing. I have written a 125 page book which encompasses most of the important information gained from the years spent at music colleges with respect to jazz theory, improvisation and song writing. I am familiar with Finale Notation, Cakewalk Recording & Band In A Box Software.

God called me to perform and write music, and to lead others to worship through music. I perform backup guitar and vocals for my church. i have attained an Associates of Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and am further pursuing my education to earn a BA in Vocal Performing. I personally have a very eclectic range of music I enjoy from Bach to Snoop Dogg. However, my favorites are Today's Christian and the Blues. My absolute favorite thing to do is to perform at church and help others enter into worship. I also enjoy performing music for my Golden Retriever, friends and family. I love to write songs and have been writing since I was a teenager. It takes time to get good at songwriting. So it has taken a little while to get this far. The more we put into music the more we get back out! Music is my true passion and I enjoy every minute of it. I love getting to teach students music. It is such a rewarding experience.
